The Commission's ‘new approach’ to Intellectual Property Policy (IP) was presented to JURI Members at the 25-26 September 2019 meeting by Mr. Pierre Delsaux, Deputy Director-General of DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs.
Among other areas of competence, DG GROW is responsible for intellectual property (except copyright) and fight against counterfeiting in the Commission. It is currently working on the future of EU industrial policy, including possible priorities on intellectual property policy (IP as part of a global industrial competitiveness strategy).
Members also voted on the JURI opinion to the petition No 0660/2018 by J.C.M. (Spanish) on behalf of FADES (Spanish Association of Host Families) on minors under guardianship.
